- Content Collection and Workflow Tools: Streamlining consumer participation in content creation through web, mobile, and video call experiences.
- Emerging Growth Opportunities: Areas like our news site embeds present untapped potential, requiring innovative product-market fit exploration.
- Marketing & Brand Touchpoints: While not directly within this role, these must align with the design philosophy set by the Product Design Lead.
Position Description
We are seeking a Product Design Lead who will function as Chptr’s Head of Design, shaping the overall design philosophy of the company. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in B2B2C environments, balancing the needs of our business partners with the expectations and emotions of their customers.
The ideal candidate will own the end-to-end product design strategy, ensuring that all touchpoints—from the business platform to consumer video experiences—are intuitive, impactful, and elegantly designed. You will be hands-on in crafting tools, interfaces, and interactions that drive behavioral psychology-backed engagement, motivation, and retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Define & Lead Design Strategy: Establish and execute a cohesive design philosophy that connects Chptr’s business tools, consumer experiences, and growth touchpoints.
- Own the Business Platform Experience: Ensure our partner-facing platform is not just seamless and simple but also persuasive—driving engagement, add-on purchases, and long-term retention through design.
- Shape Consumer Video Experiences: Elevate tribute videos and memorial content beyond “expected” jobs-to-be-done, ensuring they create deep emotional resonance and drive organic sharing.
- Unify Content Collection & Workflow Tools: Transform web, mobile, and video-based content submission into a cohesive and delightful experience.
- Explore and Optimize Growth Channels: Work on product-market fit experiments for emerging opportunities, such as Chptr’s embed for news sites and other high-potential distribution formats.
- Bridge Product & Brand: While marketing assets aren’t your direct responsibility, you’ll ensure brand touchpoints reflect a consistent and well-articulated design approach.
